Im drinking tequila w no chaser- Sitting by the christmas lights, to the buzz of night. Clear skies ring new and bright horizons of tommorow. i will see a new day, as me and my family drive to Maine and meet happy people, in a happy place, sailing away from bitter, dry new yorkers. For two days I will be in peace, by the forest, the ocean coast singing fluctuating songs, repeated, consistant and sure.
Last summer in midnight Maine, me and my brother, trotted down to the sea shore tripping, skipping and high. We saw the clear white stars, gloriouse above, so promising, so wide, as the shore collapsed against ancient sands. I thought, "what a quiet night, yet sooo big." We laughed, at... well nothing... and laughed somemore...the corners of my mouth frozen towrds the sky, i wish i could freeze this moment too.
Now broken by the mummer of car horns, I look out the window across the city, recognizing its cold beauty, the glimmer of lights among a sea of cement. Comfy, cozy, familiar. Candles burn and flicker on the coffee table, by my copyright sheets, vanilla, candy, sugar, like me, they burn sensually. Tequila anybody?
